The Director-General of the General Administration of Coast Guard, Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Ali Yusuf Al-Sabah, emphasized on Friday the importance of intensifying monitoring efforts and ensuring the readiness of the maritime security system. He stressed that the Coast Guard will not hesitate to take legal action against violators.

This came in a statement by Brigadier General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, as conveyed in a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior following his supervision of an extensive inspection campaign carried out by the General Administration of Coast Guard in Kuwait Bay through the mobile operations room at the Nawaf Al-Ahmad Coast Guard Base.

Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah added that the Coast Guard will continue to conduct its maritime patrols around the clock to ensure the safety of sea-goers and protect territorial waters from any violations.

The Ministry of Interior stated that the campaign, carried out in the presence of several Coast Guard leaders, is part of the relentless efforts made by the Coast Guard to maintain maritime security and enhance compliance with regulatory procedures within territorial waters.

It noted that the campaign aims to strengthen maritime surveillance and ensure that maritime vessels comply with security and safety standards. Inspections and verifications were conducted on automatic identification systems and safety equipment to ensure their compliance with approved regulations, in addition to monitoring the adherence of boat and ship owners to maritime laws and procedures.

The Ministry affirmed that the campaign is part of its comprehensive strategy to enhance maritime security and curb any illegal activities that may threaten the safety of maritime navigation or the marine environment. It called on all sea-goers to adhere to security guidelines and follow the instructions issued by the relevant authorities, as this plays a fundamental role in maintaining their security and safety.
