The Minister of Health Inaugurates Al-Mutlaa Health Center (8N)..

The Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, inaugurated today, Wednesday, the Al-Mutlaa Health Center (8N), which is the third center to open following the inauguration of centers (10N and 11N). This is part of a total of 15 health centers set to open soon, alongside specialized centers, to serve the residents of the Al-Mutlaa residential area.  


During the inauguration, Minister Al-Awadhi stated in a press briefing that the center is part of the ministry’s commitment to its strategic plan to improve and develop healthcare services provided to citizens and residents.  


He explained that the center includes numerous specialized and general clinics, chronic disease and diabetes clinics, as well as clinics for men and women, vaccination, nursing, and a fully equipped dental department with five clinics featuring the latest technologies and imaging. Additionally, the center houses a laboratory section and a pharmacy to provide all types of medications.  


The minister noted that the ministry is preparing to open a mini emergency center to serve the residents of the area after Eid Al-Fitr, which will receive cases before transferring them to Jahra Hospital. He emphasized their dedication to enhancing healthcare services.  


He mentioned that Al-Mutlaa is a new area experiencing a growing population, making it a priority according to the ministry’s plan. The new center will operate during Ramadan in the morning shift only, from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and will transition to morning and evening shifts after Eid, gradually expanding to 24-hour operation.  


Regarding the ministry’s projects, he announced that the specialized Al-Wafra Health Center will open in April to serve residents in the southern part of the country. He also confirmed that the ministry is working to develop the infrastructure of hospitals and health centers, as well as support and train national medical, nursing, technical, and administrative staff.  


He highlighted that the Infectious Diseases Hospital is 90% complete, with construction and operational tasks nearing completion, and is expected to open in late April. Additionally, the ministry is preparing to open two maternity hospitals, one in the Sabah Health District and another in the Ahmadi Health District.  


Al-Awadhi emphasized that the ministry is adopting a development plan to transform health districts into integrated medical cities, starting with the Sabah Medical City and the Ahmadi Medical City. These will serve as pioneering models combining general and specialized hospitals with advanced health centers, aiming to enhance the efficiency of the healthcare system and meet the growing demand for medical services.
