The European Statistical Office (Eurostat) announced today, Wednesday, that the annual inflation rate in the Eurozone decreased to 2.3 percent in February, a figure lower than the previous estimate of 2.5 percent.
In a report, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, stated that the annual inflation rate in the European Union reached 2.7 percent in February 2025, down from 2.8 percent in January of the same year.
The report indicated that the lowest annual inflation rates were recorded in France, followed by Ireland and Finland, while the highest annual rates were observed in Hungary, Romania, and Estonia.
Official statistics show that annual inflation decreased in 14 member states, remained stable in 6 countries, and increased in 7 countries compared to January 2025.
Eurostat explained in its report that the services sector was the largest contributor to the rise in the annual inflation rate in February 2025, with an increase of 1.66 percent, followed by the food, alcohol, and tobacco sector, which contributed 0.52 percent.
