These days, the Friday market in the country is witnessing a high demand for truffles (Al-Kamah), particularly the Kuwaiti Zubaidi truffle, known for its exquisite taste and strong aroma. It has become a popular addition to the list of foods and delicacies during the holy month of Ramadan.
The prices of truffles, which are linked to the rainy season, vary depending on the type and quantity. Prices typically start at around 7 dinars per kilogram and can go up to 25 dinars, with potential increases due to high demand from various regions across the country.
The Friday market is bustling with large quantities of imported truffles from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Morocco, Algeria, and Iran. These truffles come in different types, sizes, and colors, including white and black varieties. The large-sized truffle, known as "Zubaidi," is considered the most expensive and highest quality.
