The Minister of Public Works: The Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project receives the attention of the supreme leadership to become a regional hub for transportation..

The Acting Minister of Public Works, Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, affirmed that the vital and developmental project, Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, is receiving the attention of the supreme leadership to establish a commercial port for the State of Kuwait and a regional transportation hub as part of the strategic transformation vision (New Kuwait 2035).

This came in a press statement made by Dr. Al-Mashaan on Sunday during her inspection visit to the site of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project on Bubiyan Island in the north of the country to follow up on the works of the contract for the study, design, and pre-execution services to complete the project.

She stated that the field visit to the site comes within the framework of the supreme directives to accelerate the implementation of the project with the aim of creating a secure regional corridor and a commercial hub in the area, and to review the latest updates on the execution of the contract, the works of which commenced on March 16 of this year.

She added that the efforts being made to develop the northern region as an integrated economic and urban system stem from the comprehensive and integrated developmental vision for the development of urban areas in the country, which takes into account all economic and urban aspects to diversify and increase the gross and domestic product and restore Kuwait's commercial, financial, and regional role.

It is worth mentioning that the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project represents one of the main pillars of development as it helps expand economic and commercial activities in the field of export and import.

The aforementioned contract is one of the fruits of the memoranda of understanding signed between the governments of the State of Kuwait and the People's Republic of China last September, marking the beginning of a series of future contracts between the two parties that reflect mutual cooperation between the two countries.

This current contract includes a set of works, the most important of which are reviewing and completing the designs for the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project and providing the vision and comprehensive plan for the implementation and operation of the port.
