Interior (Ministry): Foiling an Attempt to Smuggle Drugs into the Country Worth Half a Million Kuwaiti Dinars..

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Department of Coast Guard, announced on Sunday the interception of a narcotics smuggling attempt into the country, with an estimated market value of approximately half a million Kuwaiti dinars (KWD 500,000).

The General Department of Security Relations and Media stated that three Iranian nationals were apprehended in possession of:

  • 125 kilograms of hashish

  • 9 hashish fingers

  • 8 Lyrica (pregabalin) strips

  • 5 bags of Captagon pills

The suspects attempted to smuggle the contraband through Kuwaiti territorial waters.

The security operation was initiated after radar systems detected a suspicious vessel. Coast Guard patrols immediately tracked and intercepted the boat upon its entry into Kuwaiti waters. Authorities surrounded and boarded the vessel, arresting the three Iranian smugglers with the illicit cargo.

All suspects and confiscated items have been referred to the relevant authorities for legal proceedings.

The Interior Ministry emphasized that Coast Guard personnel serve as an impenetrable security shield against any territorial violations or smuggling attempts. The Ministry warned that any threat to Kuwait's security would be met with an iron fist, stressing that security forces maintain constant readiness to protect the nation's safety and stability.
