The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) announced on Tuesday the deployment of dedicated ATMs for Eidiya (festive cash gifts) in several commercial complexes, dispensing new Kuwaiti dinar banknotes to meet the increased demand for these denominations ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
In a press statement, the CBK confirmed that these ATMs will be available at The Avenues, 360 Mall, Al Kout, and Al Capital Mall starting today until the first day of Eid.
The service is offered in collaboration with the Kuwait Banking Association, the shared banking services company KNET, and the participating malls. The CBK noted that this initiative has previously been well-received by the public, as it eliminates the hassle of obtaining smaller-denomination banknotes, which are typically unavailable at regular ATMs.
Additionally, the CBK stated that it had earlier supplied local banks with the new banknotes in the specified denominations to ensure public access through their branches across all regions. Kuwaiti banks have allocated 308 branches and 101 ATMs to meet customer demand for the new banknotes in various denominations. The banks have also announced the locations and operating hours for Eidiya withdrawals.
