Dr. Nasser Al-Maraghi, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for Draws and Promotional Offers at the Ministry of Commerce, stated that the previous situation which raised suspicions of manipulation in some commercial draws will not continue. He emphasized the ministry's determination to restore public confidence in its procedures and safeguard Kuwait's economic reputation.
In a press statement on Thursday, Al-Maraghi explained that the committee, formed by Ministerial Decision No. (27) of 2025 last Monday, has commenced operations and is developing new frameworks and mechanisms to regulate commercial draws. These measures will ensure integrity and transparency while addressing previous shortcomings.
He added that in coordination with organizers of the "Ya Hala" Kuwait Shopping Festival, the ninth draw has been postponed and merged with the tenth draw scheduled for April 5th. This delay will allow for full implementation of new procedures designed to enhance transparency, clarity, and credibility for all future draws.
Regarding the eighth draw which had raised suspicions, Al-Maraghi confirmed the committee has decided to disregard its results pending the completion of investigations by the fact-finding committee. He noted full coordination with "Ya Hala" Shopping Festival organizers regarding this matter.
