Tunisian extra virgin olive oil claimed the global top spot Saturday at the Afro-Asian International Competition for Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil held in Abu Dhabi. The event, organized by Sweden's World Olive Oil Competitions Group, featured participants from 16 nations.
According to Tunisia's official news agency, Tunisian EVOO won:
53 gold medals for quality
7 golds in the healthy oil category
4 silver medals

Other participating countries included Italy, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Croatia, Algeria, Libya, Turkey, Morocco, Jordan, Lebanon, and Oman.
