In press statements made in Riyadh, Wright clarified that further details of this cooperation will be announced later this year. He explained that the agreement will be based on the so-called "123 Agreement", which governs peaceful nuclear cooperation between the United States and other countries under the framework of the U.S. Atomic Energy Act.
The U.S. Energy Secretary noted that efforts are underway to localize peaceful nuclear energy production within Saudi Arabia, expressing optimism about establishing a long-term partnership in this field.
He also pointed out that the agreement will include mutual investments in the energy sector, enhancing opportunities for growth and technological advancement between the two countries. In this regard, Wright emphasized that Saudi Arabia plays a crucial role in promoting global stability and seeks to make the world a better place through its initiatives in energy and technology.
