The White House affirms that President Trump has achieved significant accomplishments in combating illegal immigration..

The White House confirmed on Monday that President Donald Trump has made significant accomplishments in securing U.S. borders and ending what he calls the "invasion of illegal immigrants" during his first 99 days in office.

Historic Drop in Border Crossings
White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt told reporters marking Trump's first 99 days in office: "The results have been stunning by any measure. Between President Trump's inauguration and April 1, only nine illegal immigrants were released into the United States (out of total border arrivals) - representing an astonishing 99.99% reduction compared to over 184,000 illegal immigrants during the same period under Biden last year."

95% Reduction in Border Apprehensions
Levitt added: "In March 2024 under Joe Biden's leadership, Border Patrol agents apprehended nearly 140,000 illegal immigrants at the southwest border. Just one year later in March 2025 under President Trump, Border Patrol apprehended just over 7,000 illegal immigrants at the southwest border - representing another 95% decrease from the previous year."

Record Lows in Key Metrics
The spokeswoman highlighted:

  • Unaccompanied minor crossings at the border have dropped to record lows

  • Total illegal crossing attempts at the southwest border hit a record low in February

  • Then fell to another new record low in March

Campaign Promises Fulfilled
During his campaign, Trump pledged to implement strict immigration policies. Since taking office, his administration has:

  • Taken numerous measures to stop illegal immigration flows

  • Increased deportations

  • Deployed additional troops to the southern border to prevent migrant crossings
