The General Sports Authority Mourns Former Vice Chairman Asad Taqi

The General Sports Authority mourns the passing of its former Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Asad Taqi, who returned to his Lord after a distinguished career marked by outstanding contributions to sports and national service.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Authority conveyed the condolences of Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, along with those of all Authority employees, to the family of the deceased.

The statement emphasized that the departed was a prominent figure in national sports, having dedicated himself to advancing sports institutions and serving Kuwaiti youth. He was one of Kuwait's distinguished sons who combined field passion with administrative vision.

The late Taqi continued his service to sports through leadership roles at both local and continental levels, undertaking organizational and managerial responsibilities that contributed to supporting sports activities, developing institutional structures, shaping national policies, and enhancing organizational work. He played a key role in preparing and implementing the National Sports Strategy.

The Authority extended its sincere condolences to his honorable family, relatives, loved ones, and all members of the sports community, praying to Almighty God to bestow His vast mercy upon him, grant him paradise, and provide his family with patience and solace.
