A delegation from Kuwait Public Transport Company (KPTC) participated in the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) Summit in Hamburg, exploring ways to enhance operational processes, improve service quality, and examine technological and artificial intelligence applications. The delegation also held meetings with public transport representatives from multiple countries.
In a press statement Wednesday, KPTC noted that the UITP Summit (June 15-19) is among the most prominent global events gathering leaders, experts, and innovators in public transport and urban mobility. The company emphasized that its participation aims to strengthen international cooperation and exchange expertise in transport operations and management systems.
The Kuwaiti delegation included KPTC Chairman Abdullah Al-Woqayan, CEO Mansour Al-Saeed, and Head of Strategic Office Abdullah Nasser. They were received by UITP Secretary General Mohamed Mezghani, UITP President and CEO of OC Transpo (Ottawa, Canada) Renée Amilcar.
Held under the theme "Better Mobility for Better Cities," this year's summit—the world's largest gathering on sustainable urban mobility—attracted over 2,500 participants and 300 exhibitors from 80+ countries. It featured cutting-edge innovations, interactive sessions on smart mobility, green solutions, and regulatory frameworks.
The delegation conducted high-level meetings with transport authorities from France, UK, Germany, Hong Kong, China, UAE, and Saudi Arabia, discussing operational optimization, service quality enhancement, passenger experience improvement, and efficiency gains.
Key focus areas included AI-powered fleet management, data-driven decision-making, and eco-friendly mobility solutions. KPTC stated this participation aligns with its strategic vision to develop Kuwait's public transport system by adopting global best practices, supporting national goals for smart, sustainable urban mobility that enhances quality of life for citizens and residents.
