One million passengers used Istanbul's two airports in five months..

Data released in Turkey on Thursday showed that Istanbul's two airports handled approximately 50 million passengers during the first five months of 2025. According to statistics from the Turkish General Directorate of State Airports Authority, passenger traffic at Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport increased by over 2.5 million travelers compared to the same period last year, reaching a total of 49,954,750 passengers.

Detailed figures reveal that Istanbul Airport served 31,898,425 passengers between January and May 2025, while Sabiha Gökçen Airport accommodated 18,056,325 passengers. This marks an increase from the 47,452,480 passengers recorded during the same period in 2024.

Furthermore, flight operations at both airports grew by nearly 5% year-on-year during the first five months of 2025, totaling 329,141 flights compared to 315,593 flights in the corresponding period last year."
