Egypt: Urgent Need to Stop Palestinian Bloodshed and Ensure Humanitarian Aid Flow to Gaza..

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty stressed on Friday the urgent need to halt Palestinian bloodshed and ensure unimpeded humanitarian aid flow to Gaza amid catastrophic humanitarian conditions.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated in a release that this came during a phone call between Minister Abdelatty and his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock, as part of strengthening close Egypt-Germany relations and discussing regional developments.

Minister Abdelatty briefed the German Foreign Minister on:

  • The latest situation in Gaza

  • Progress in ceasefire negotiations

  • Hostage/prisoner release talks

He outlined Egypt's preparations to host the "Early Recovery and Reconstruction in Gaza" conference immediately upon reaching a ceasefire agreement. Abdelatty emphasized that establishing a political horizon for a just and sustainable resolution to the Palestinian issue - including restoring Palestinians' legitimate rights, particularly:
✓ Self-determination
✓ Establishment of an independent state along June 4, 1967 borders
✓ East Jerusalem as capital

  • constitutes the "cornerstone for peace and stability for all regional nations."

Regarding the need to stabilize the Israel-Iran ceasefire, Abdelatty stressed the importance of resuming Iranian nuclear program negotiations. He highlighted the pivotal role of the E3 group (France, Germany, UK) in:

  • Addressing concerns about the nuclear program

  • Supporting negotiations toward a de-escalatory settlement

On Egypt-Germany relations, Minister Abdelatty:
