iOS 26.1. Here are the highlights of the new features coming to the iPhone..

Apple is currently testing the beta version of the first major update to iOS 26, iOS 26.1, which includes a host of useful features and changes to the system's interface. As beta testing draws to a close, iOS 26.1 is expected to launch this week.

Here are the highlights of the new features in this update:Ability to control the transparency of elements Apple has added new options to the iOS 26.1 update to customize the transparency effect provided by the Liquid Glass design, as the new options allow the transparency of elements to be reduced or kept the same.

These options can be accessed by going to the Settings app, then the Display Brightness section, from where the user can switch between two modes:

Clear: Maintains the default degree of transparency provided by the Liquid Glass design, so that the background is clearly visible through buttons, menu bars, and other elements.

Tinted: Reduces transparency, slightly opaque elements, and enhances contrast, making it easier to see items clearly.

A new option to control the camera unlock button from the lock screen in the camera section within the Settings app, Apple has added a new option called Lock Screen Swipe to Open Camera. When this option is turned off, the swipe to the left of the lock screen to open the camera will be disabled.
