Turkey signs a contract to export 48 fighter jets (Qaan) to Indonesia..

Haluk Görgün, head of Turkey's Defense Industries, stated in remarks to journalists after the signing ceremony that the contract represents a foundation for long-term cooperation between the two countries. He explained that with the signing of the deal, a concrete step has been taken toward the shared vision proposed by the two nations' leaders, who are collaborating on multiple defense industry programs.

Görgün noted that an agreement was signed between the two countries a month and a half ago, reaffirming their commitment to finalizing the KAAN fighter jet sale. He clarified that the actual contract was signed on Saturday by the responsible company, TUSAŞ (Turkish Aerospace Industries), to meet the needs of the Indonesian Air Force.

He also highlighted that this agreement is the largest defense industry export deal in Turkey's history and revealed another recent contract to supply several frigates to the Indonesian Navy.

It is worth noting that the KAAN, a fifth-generation fighter jet developed by TUSAŞ, is capable of air-to-air combat missions and conducting precision strikes from internal weapon bays at supersonic speeds.
