Egypt has strongly condemned today, Tuesday, the storming of the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, accompanied by a large group of extremist settlers. Cairo considers this a dangerous continuation of escalatory and provocative practices by the Israeli occupation.
In an official statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that such violations constitute a grave assault on the sanctities and sentiments of millions of Muslims worldwide, with severe repercussions for regional security and stability.
Egypt reiterated its call for the international community to assume its responsibilities in confronting the Israeli occupation’s repeated and flagrant violations, urging concerted efforts to uphold the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people—foremost among them their right to an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
