Iran discusses with the Atomic Energy Agency arrangements for future cooperation under new circumstances..

In a statement to an official Iranian TV channel, Araghchi said, "The Deputy Director-General of the IAEA is not coming to Iran for inspection or assessment, but for dialogue on future arrangements regarding cooperation in Iran's peaceful nuclear program." He emphasized that Iran has not currently authorized any inspection activities.

He noted that "the IAEA must recognize that new circumstances have emerged and that Iran is committed to the law passed by the (Iranian) Parliament, which stipulates that cooperation with the IAEA must be regulated through the Supreme National Security Council."

Araghchi pointed out that several nuclear facilities had been bombed and damaged, necessitating a new framework for cooperation. He questioned how "the IAEA would handle requests to visit facilities damaged by bombings," stating that "there is no protocol or action plan yet, so one must be established."

The Iranian Foreign Minister stressed that drafting a new protocol has become necessary due to security changes and parliamentary decisions, explaining that "at the IAEA's request, we invited Deputy Director-General Massimo Aparo to visit Tehran."

Last Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh announced that an IAEA official would visit Tehran within the next ten days.

Iran has been working since last week to establish a new protocol with the IAEA based on a law passed by the Iranian Parliament on June 25, requiring the government to suspend any cooperation with the IAEA until national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of nuclear facilities and scientists are ensured.

The law also mandates that Iran must fully exercise its rights under Article IV of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), particularly regarding uranium enrichment, with the Supreme National Security Council responsible for assessing these commitments.

Iran's nuclear facilities in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan have been targeted by U.S. airstrikes, along with repeated attacks by the Israeli occupation. Additionally, in the early hours of Friday, June 13, Tehran and several other Iranian cities witnessed large-scale attacks by Israeli forces, which Iran countered with missile strikes targeting occupied territories.
