"Population Health Intelligence". Abu Dhabi launches world's first smart digital twin for proactive health and prevention management..

In a pioneering step towards building a more proactive and intelligent health system, the Department of Health (DoH), the regulator of the healthcare sector in the emirate, launched the Population Health Intelligence (EH) platform at GITEX Global 2025, the world's largest event in the field of technology and artificial intelligence, currently being held in Dubai.

The platform is the first of its kind in the world to manage population health using artificial intelligence technologies, as it embodies a radical shift in healthcare philosophy, moving healthcare from a therapeutic focus to a proactive preventive approach, establishing Abu Dhabi as a leading innovation hub in the healthcare sector. The move is part of a strategic collaboration with Microsoft to establish Abu Dhabi's leading position as an incubator for innovation aimed at extending a healthy life expectancy and enhancing quality of life.

The digital twin. A comprehensive and real-time vision for the health of Abu Dhabi's population:

The Population Health Intelligence platform builds a unified digital twin for the emirate's healthcare system, fed with data from multiple sources, including clinical records, environmental data, and lifestyle data.

The digital twin acts as a real-time and holistic mirror of community health, giving health decision-makers the ability to radically shift towards proactiveness, enabling early detection of health risks, predicting future turns of health trends, and simulating the effectiveness of interventions before implementing them on the ground.

By combining advanced analytics, artificial intelligence and spatial simulation technologies, the platform supports smarter decision-making and directs health resources with the highest efficiency to enhance the emirate's ability to intervene immediately.
