ChargerLAB conducted a comprehensive test of the iPhone 17's charging performance using four Apple USB-C chargers: 20W, 40W, 70W, and 140W, via the POWER-Z KM003C and POWER-Z Lab V2.4 software in a constant thermal environment of 25°C.
When using a 20W charger, the phone started by drawing 19W of 9V output power for the first 36 minutes, then gradually decreasing to 12W, then to 7W by 65 minutes, then entering In the trickle charging phase.
The phone took 27 minutes to reach 50%, 52 minutes to reach 80%, while the full charge was completed in an hour and 50 minutes.
Using a 40W charger, the phone activated a 15-volt output and reached a peak of 36W, with the power steady at 28W for 11 minutes before starting to gradually decrease to 8W at 57 minutes, then 5V towards the end of the cycle.
