In 2023, Apple launched the NameDrop feature within iOS 17, a feature that allows sharing files or contact information as soon as you bring an iPhone closer to another device. More than two years later, it turns out that Google is developing a similar feature for Android users.

This feature appeared in one version of Google Play Services under the name Gesture Exchange, as well as another activity called Contact Exchange, both of which are based on NFC technology.The first screen of the feature shows a list of data that can be shared, such as a photo, phone number, or email, with the option to choose only receive mode without sharing any information.
