Apple Faces $634 Million Judgment in Apple Watch Patent Dispute with Masimo..

A federal jury in California has ruled in favor of Masimo in a patent battle with Apple over the Apple Watch's blood oxygen measurement feature, awarding the company $634 million in damages, confirming that Apple infringed on Masimo's patent for low-energy pulse meters.

The case focused on whether the Apple Watch is classified as a patient monitor under Masimo's patent. Masimo used the Heart Rate Alert feature as proof that the device monitors the user with up to 95% accuracy, while Apple argued that the feature only works when the user is stationary for 10 minutes.
