The popular social media platform (TikTok) has returned to the (Google) and (Apple) stores to resume its services in the United States after weeks of suspension. This comes following promises from former U.S. President Donald Trump to delay the decision to ban the app until April 5th. In remarks to journalists on Thursday evening, Trump stated that "it is possible to extend the 75-day deadline" he had granted to (TikTok), which boasts around 170 million users in the United States, in hopes of reaching an agreement to transfer its ownership to an American buyer.
Last month, Trump signed an executive order allowing (TikTok) to continue operating temporarily in the United States while seeking a solution to avoid a nationwide ban. This decision followed a law signed by former President Joe Biden just before the end of his term, which mandated the ban of (TikTok) if it did not sever ties with its Chinese parent company, (ByteDance).
