The Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, received Bahraini Minister of Tourism Fatima bint Jaffer Al-Sirafi at Kuwait International Airport upon her arrival in the country on Sunday.
The visit of the Bahraini Minister of Tourism comes to participate in the 9th meeting of ministers responsible for tourism in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, which Kuwait will host on Monday. The meeting will see the participation of ministers responsible for tourism from the six GCC countries.
Earlier, on February 5, the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, represented by the Human and Environmental Affairs Sector – Department of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, held a (virtual) meeting of the General Tourism Committee and the Gulf Tourism Strategy Committee in preparation for the 9th ministerial meeting of tourism officials from the GCC states.
During the meeting, unified Gulf initiatives were discussed, including the joint tourism promotion initiative, the statistical and knowledge exchange initiative, and the unified tourism guidance project, which aims to enhance tourism integration among GCC countries and activate international cooperation with sisterly and friendly nations. The meeting concluded with several recommendations that will be presented at the ministerial meeting in Kuwait tomorrow.
