Qualcomm officially unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processors at the Snapdragon Summit, introducing the next generation of flagship mobile processors built on a 2nm manufacturing architecture.

These processors surpass the 5GHz mark for the first time in a mobile processor. Both processors are based on Oryon cores, featuring two Prime cores clocked at up to 5GHz and six Performance cores clocked at up to 4GHz. They also include 16MB of Oryon Flex Cache, support for up to 24GB of LPDDR5X and LPDDR6-5300 memory, and UFS 5.0 storage.

In terms of performance, the Extreme edition achieves up to a 13% increase in processor performance, while reducing power consumption by 37% compared to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

Qualcomm has also enhanced the Adreno graphics processor by adding dedicated AI cores and Adreno Neural Fusion technology to improve graphics accuracy and frame rate, resulting in a 44% increase in graphics performance and a 40% improvement in power efficiency.
