Google hopes to be able to reach an agreement with the administration of US President Donald Trump to prevent the implementation of the plan to dismantle it sought by the US judiciary.
According to a Bloomberg report, the company held a meeting with Trump administration officials last week, demanding that the plan be reconsidered.
Google is facing a lawsuit filed by the US Department of Justice (DoJ), accusing it of monopolizing digital search and advertising, which has harmed competitors, advertisers and website owners, according to the department.
The charges also include Google paying billions of dollars to companies such as Apple and Mozilla to ensure it remains the default search engine in Apple and Firefox.
To settle the case, the Justice Department proposed breaking up the company, as well as selling some of its products such as the Chrome browser.
