The Civil Service Bureau announced today, Thursday, the suspension of work in all ministries, government entities, public bodies, and institutions on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Fitr for the Hijri year 1446. This will be based on the determination of the first day of Eid, which could be either Sunday, March 30, or Monday, March 31 of the current month.
The Bureau clarified in a press statement that if Sunday, March 30, is confirmed as the first day of Eid al-Fitr, the official holiday will be on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, March 30, 31, and April 1, respectively. Regular work will resume on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.
The statement added that if Monday, March 31, is confirmed as the first day of Eid, the holiday will extend from Sunday to Thursday, March 30, 31, and April 1, 2, and 3, respectively. In this case, Sunday will be a rest day, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be official holidays, and Thursday will be another rest day. Regular work will resume on Sunday, April 6, 2025.
The Bureau noted that entities and agencies with special work requirements will determine their holidays and relevant authorities will oversee their arrangements, taking into account the public interest.
