The management of **Heathrow International Airport**, the largest airport in the British capital, **London**, announced the closure of the airport for the entire day on Friday due to a power outage caused by a massive fire at a substation that supplies the airport with electricity.  

In a statement, the administration said that the airport will remain closed from today until midnight to ensure the safety of passengers and staff, advising passengers not to head to the airport without first contacting the relevant airlines for further information and until the airport reopens.  

The fire, which broke out at the substation in the **Hays** area of west London late on Thursday evening, caused power outages in thousands of homes and led to the evacuation of around 150 people from homes near the station.
