Majed Al-Azmi, Director General of Kuwait's Bayt Al-Zakat, announced on Sunday that the institution has donated two million Kuwaiti dinars (KD 2,000,000) to the national campaign for debt relief of insolvent individuals, organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs.
In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Al-Azmi explained that this campaign was launched following the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (may God protect him), continuing the nation's approach of supporting financially distressed citizens. He noted the Ministry of Social Affairs' commitment to establishing a mechanism that ensures aid reaches the maximum number of eligible beneficiaries through clear regulations and criteria.
Al-Azmi emphasized that this donation aligns with Bayt Al-Zakat's social mission and its role in supporting needy segments of society. He pointed out that Zakat funds may rightfully be allocated to this cause, given its significant merit in alleviating the burdens of debtors who are unable to repay their obligations.
He reiterated Bayt Al-Zakat's dedication to assisting vulnerable groups, reflecting the spirit of cooperation and solidarity within Kuwaiti society and the unity of the Kuwaiti family.
