Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan emphasized the importance of coordination between Turkey and Egypt on regional issues during a Saturday phone call with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
According to a statement from the Turkish Presidency's Communications Directorate, Erdoğan stressed the need for sustained Ankara-Cairo coordination regarding matters critical to the region.
He underscored the importance of joint action to end the genocide being recommitted by Israeli occupation forces following their violation of the Gaza ceasefire, and to secure a permanent truce and peace settlement.
Erdoğan noted Turkey would continue standing with the Palestinian people, with humanitarian aid shipments to Gaza via Egypt's El-Arish Port ongoing. He expressed gratitude for Egypt's support in these efforts.
