Jordan participates in efforts to extinguish wildfires in the countryside of (Latakia) in Syria..

Jordan announced on Sunday the participation of its armed forces in efforts to extinguish the wildfires that erupted in the countryside of Latakia province, northwestern Syria. The fires, caused by the explosion of war remnants and rising temperatures, have spread across forests, plains, and residential areas.

The Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported that the Jordan Armed Forces dispatched two Black Hawk helicopters from the Royal Air Force, equipped with specialized crews and advanced technical gear, to help contain fire hotspots and limit their spread, safeguarding lives and property.

The statement added that this effort aligns with the Jordanian Armed Forces’ humanitarian role and their unwavering commitment to assisting brotherly and friendly nations during crises and natural disasters.

The wildfires in Latakia’s countryside, which broke out days ago, have expanded over vast areas. Syrian firefighting, emergency, and civil defense teams—supported by firefighting equipment from Turkey—continue efforts to control the flames and prevent their spread to new villages and regions.
