Samsung has won the 2025 R&D 100 Award for its advanced Peltier cooling technology, developed in partnership with Johns Hopkins University's Applied Physics Laboratory. Often known as the Nobel Prize for Engineering and the Oscar of Innovation, this award is given by R&D World magazine to recognize the 100 most innovative technologies around the world each year.

Samsung first introduced its Peltier cooling technology this year in a study published in the scientific journal Nature Communications.
