Kuwait University hosts the (UNESCO World Peoples' Day) forum with the participation of 25 countries..

Kuwait University inaugurated today, Saturday, the second edition of the (UNESCO World Peoples' Day) forum at Sabah Al-Salem University City, with the participation of 25 countries from various continents.  

In a speech delivered during the opening ceremony, Dr. Jasem Al-Hamdan, Acting Dean of Student Affairs at the university, emphasized that this annual event reflects the vision of the Student Affairs Deanship in fostering cultural interaction among nations.  

Al-Hamdan explained that the forum aims to exchange knowledge and information about the diverse customs and traditions of peoples, contributing to strengthening human relations and promoting closer ties between different cultures.  

He added that the university is keen on promoting cultural diversity and academic openness by offering scholarships, student exchange programs, and signing agreements and memoranda of understanding with universities and academic institutions worldwide.  

He also highlighted the university's commitment to creating an educational environment rich in diversity, enabling students to broaden their intellectual horizons and reinforcing the principles of international cooperation in research and education.  


Al-Hamdan welcomed the ambassadors and representatives of embassies in Kuwait participating in the forum, stating, "You are in a country of peace and love, and you have our utmost appreciation."  

Addressing the students, he said, "You are ambassadors of your cultures, and through your active participation in this forum, you contribute to building bridges of communication and understanding between peoples, promoting values of tolerance and mutual respect."  

He affirmed that every culture carries within it a history, inherited values, and shared human experiences, noting that "cultural diversity is a source of enrichment and inspiration that enhances understanding and coexistence among societies."  

It is worth noting that the forum is held for one day at the Cultural Center in Sabah Al-Salem University City and includes various cultural, artistic, and heritage activities presented by students from different countries, alongside a number of participating entities from within Kuwait.
