The Minister of Public Works, Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, announced the continuation of comprehensive maintenance works in the Uqaila area under new contracts, emphasizing the ongoing implementation of road maintenance projects across all regions while fully adhering to quality assurance and meeting international standards.
In a press statement on Friday, Al-Mashaan stated that road maintenance plays a vital role in achieving economic and social development and improving the quality of life, in line with the strategic transformation vision of "New Kuwait 2035." She highlighted that infrastructure is the backbone of any country, stemming from a comprehensive and integrated developmental perspective that considers economic and urban aspects.
She explained that road maintenance is not merely superficial repairs but an investment in safety, efficiency, and sustainability. These works enhance the quality of life, support the economy, and protect infrastructure investments, making them essential for any nation striving for progress and prosperity.
On his part, Engineer Abdullah Al-Kandari, Supervisor of Maintenance for the Ahmadi Governorate (Zone 1, Contract 15), stated in a similar press statement that the ministry’s teams are present in Section (4) to monitor the latest developments in the new contracts for comprehensive road maintenance. He explained that the work involves laying a 5 cm thick asphalt layer.
Meanwhile, Engineer Saleh Mohammed Al-Habaj from the Maintenance Engineering Sector urged citizens and residents to follow the General Traffic Department for updates on upcoming road closures to avoid traffic congestion.
