The British Foreign Office announced on Friday that it will provide additional humanitarian aid to victims of the recent earthquake that struck Myanmar, amounting to 10 million pounds (about $12.8 million), bringing the total cash assistance provided to 25 million pounds (about $32 million).The ministry said in a statement that UK-supported relief supplies are reaching around 15,000 people in disaster-stricken areas. It explained that the British funding is being delivered through partners in Myanmar working on the ground and includes first aid, basic medical equipment, food, water, shelter, and personal hygiene kits. More than 2,886 people were killed by the 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28, and hundreds of people are still missing.
