The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) participated today, Friday, in the inauguration ceremony of the Andorkhaan Airport development and expansion project in Mongolia, marking a new phase in the ongoing partnership between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Mongolia.
Funding Commitments:
Airport Project Grant: 1.06 million Kuwaiti dinars (~$3.4 million USD) provided by the Kuwaiti government and supervised by KFAED
Feasibility Study Grant: 80,000 Kuwaiti dinars (~$262,000 USD) for technical and economic assessments
Strategic Vision:
Upgrade Andorkhaan Airport to ICAO Category 4C international standards
Align with Mongolia’s 2050 Sustainable Development Strategy
Enhance regional connectivity in Khentii Province and beyond
Expected Impact:
Serve as a key economic driver for trade and transportation
Create long-term growth opportunities in Eastern Mongolia

Burn Center in Ulaanbaatar: Previously funded by Kuwait with a 2.6 million dinar grant (~$8.5 million USD)
