Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone 17 series next month, and in a remarkable move, Bloomberg revealed that the company will manufacture all four versions of the series in India, with devices destined for the US market shipped directly from there when it first launches.
The move comes as part of Apple's expansion of production lines in India through five factories, including two newly opened factories. Through it, the company seeks to reduce its dependence on China in the manufacture of iPhones intended for global markets, especially the American market.According to the report, India's Tata Group, based in Mumbai, will produce up to half of the iPhones manufactured in India over the next two years, along with Apple's traditional partner Foxconn through its production center in Bangalore.
