Barcelona secured a hard-fought3-2 victory over their rival Levante on Saturday, as part of the second round of the Spanish Football League.
At the Ciutat de València stadium, Levante took the lead with two goals: the first by Iván Romero in the 15th minute, followed by midfielder José Luis Morales adding the second from a penalty kick in the seventh minute of first-half stoppage time.
In the second half, Pedri scored to narrow the gap in the 49th minute, and his teammate Ferran Torres equalized in the 52nd minute.
In the first minute of stoppage time, Levante defender Unai Elgezabal accidentally scored an own goal, handing Barcelona the third goal and the victory, allowing them to claim all three points.
Meanwhile, Atlético Madrid was held to a1-1 draw by their guest Elche.
At the Cívitas Metropolitano stadium, Norwegian striker Alexander Sørloth put Atlético ahead in the 8th minute, but Elche striker Rafael Mir quickly equalized with a goal in the 15th minute.
With these results, Barcelona raised their tally to six points, taking the top spot in the league standings. Levante remained without any points, sitting in 18th place, while Atlético settled with one point in 13th place. Elche earned their second point, placing them 10th in the standings.
