Adobe launches a new version of Photoshop for iPhone with revolutionary features..

Adobe has announced the launch of a new version of the Photoshop application for smartphones that features many generative design, modification and artificial intelligence tools available in the computer version.

The app integrates with Photoshop on the web, allowing creators to work on their projects across multiple devices, and the app is available globally today for iPhones, with the promise to launch another version for Android later this year, according to Adobe.

Since 2010, Adobe has provided a simplified version of its popular software under the name Photoshop Express, but the company maintains that the new application is more powerful, and offers an experience closer to real Photoshop.

The two apps share some advantages, such as resizing, hiding items, adjusting contrast and saturation, and removing blemishes, but Photoshop Express is closer to traditional editing apps like Picsart and Facetune, while the new app provides a more professional experience closer to the desktop version.

The free version of the app gives access to many Photoshop tools, such as the Spot Healing Brush, Tap Select, layers, masks, and image merging features.

The app includes direct access to the Adobe Stock library, integrates with other Adobe applications such as Adobe Express, Lightroom, and Fresco, as well as support for Adobe Firefly AI tools, such as generative packaging and generative expansion.

Advanced features, such as Object Select, Magic Wand, Content Aware Fill, Clone Stamp, and Remove Tool, require a paid plan that costs $8 per month or $70 per year.

This plan offers additional benefits, such as advanced integration modes, transparency controls, color effects, Photoshop integration into the web, as well as "Similar generation" and "Image Reference" features in the cloud platform.

All participants in any paid Photoshop plan will have access to the new version of the app at no additional cost.

Adobe has yet to announce its future plans for Photoshop Express, which still offers a cheaper monthly subscription at $5.

It's unclear if the company will continue to support both apps, especially with another editing platform called Adobe Express available in smartphones.

Users believe that the relaunch of Photoshop in smartphones was an expected and required step, as Photoshop Express was not able to provide an integrated experience comparable to the desktop version, while being useful for quick adjustments, and creating graphics for social media platforms.
